Activity Log

March 13:  Downloaded pod cast, listened to pod cast, posted to my blog and commented to one classmates blog.

Wrapping it up

This has been an interesting class, that fact that I actually completed an on-line class is in itself a milestone.  I actually enjoy using technology and finding its intricacies, but I have always struggled in on-line classes (maybe it’s the laziness factor).  This class allowed me to see many other peoples views on technology and to live vicariously through their experiences in both the classroom and in their struggles and triumphs over technology (I say this as if technology is alive, hmm…food for thought).

It was interesting to realize the differences between just managing and becoming a leader in this technological age, I would like to understand what is needed with regards to technology and how to create it, grow its use and support those who will use it on a continual basis such as teachers.

I was able to identify and experience the five stages of Dr. Newberry’s hierarchy while on substitute assignments and I was also able to determine what type of innovator I am.  Knowing this information helps me to understand why I make the decisions I do with regards to technology and whether to accept or reject a new technology.  But most importantly I have learned that it takes work and research to make the best possible decision to accept a product.  I learned that (like my last boyfriend) pomp and flashy gimmicks are fleeting, but a good product will provide many if not all of the tools that you need.

Where do I see myself?  Well since my plan to marry an old (80+ yrs.) wealthy man (like my last boyfriend) have not panned out I am considering a career in the private sector where I have had positive experiences with training programs.

In closing I am thankful that I was in this class with many talented and obviously passionate individuals that made reading blogs more interesting.

    Great blog!!
I agree it takes a lot of work and research (and proper training) to make the best possible decision to accept (or reject) a new technology.

I am sorry to hear that your plans have not panned out, however based on what you have posted on your blog over the last 10 weeks I am confident your abilities will provide you with numerous opportunities for work in the private sector. Hopefully like your dedication (work and research) to making the right decisions about technology, your skills will help lead you a career you want. I have enjoyed reading your blog during this class. Good Luck!

As far as finding the right man, you’ve probably been looking in all the wrong places. Ooops that’s a song. Education is a better bet. Here’s another of life’s sayings, “nothing worth having comes easy.”

I always get a chuckle out of your blogs! Keep your focus as I think you will be very successful in whatever sector of employment you decide to undertake!

Things will work out, just don’t give up.

Well, down we really can start counting down the hours until we have completed another class together. I appreciate all the comments both online and during classes. I definitely was a newbie when classes started last fall, except for where power points are concerned I hadn’t done much besides use my computer to surf the waves on the www and as a word processor. What you and Noemi need to remember is that I don’t have any children at home that I have to deal with on a daily basis. Once and awhile I have to play chauffeur grandma or go and cheer at a game but no one needs my help on homework or depends on me for meals. So all of you parents out there need to pat yourselves on your backs for what you have accomplished.

I agree with Barbara, “nothing worth having comes easy”. For something to be worth it…hard work is involved, or else we wouldn’t appreciate it as much. Keep up the good work, the right guy will come along. If you have time listed to this song, “By Your Side”, by Tenth Avenue North. It helped me a lot in that area in that area.

WOW! I thought I was the lazy one in this class. As you can see I always wait until the last moment in this class, but I have actually got better with this class because this class had a lot, how do I say it, interesting views and opinions from everyone that I actually enjoyed reading your blogs. We lazy people have to stick together, keep up the education and you will find someone someday, you just got to keep your eyes open.
