Delivery of eLearning Resources

I have had some experience in eLearning with a former employer who took training and staff support very seriously.  This for profit company did most of the training using technology in one form or another.  The training was provided using online discussions, telephone seminars, webinars and using an intensive and well developed training module on a set of 18 CD-ROMs.  I learned a lot about the products and services from this training, the training took place during the first three weeks of begining employment.  What I really appreciated about this company is their use of technology to further educate and inform their employees about changes to products or new upcoming services.

I also have eLearning experience from CSUSB, prior to CSUSB I attended UCR where every course I took was an in-class sit down environment.  I have taken the majority of classes from CSUSB online, and I have utilized either BlackBoard or the instructors own website to receive instruction, either in podcasts, word documents or by other similar means.

I have a very healthy respect for eLearning, in education and training environments I have seen eLearning provide a distinct advantage in retention and the fact that it allows the user to access the material at convienent times (also a learner can go over the material several times).

I agree with your adventages to the elearning. I think there are benefits to working on line. I do miss the interactions of a classroom though. I get frustrated with the feedback in these online classes at times because there are times when you do not get timely feedback. I am always afraid that I am off course. I know setting up the Moodle class has really allowed me to focus on how write up the directions and activities to better help my students.
